My sons Muhammad & Abdullah Davis have been training with me since they were just old enough to hold a camera. Since we moved to Istanbul in 2017, they joined my film training program and have excelled beyond my expectations. Both work with me full-time now.
Muhammad is a Director Of Photography, and Abdullah is a Photographer and Editor. Another student of mine, Ibrahim Souadda, started with me in 2015 for a summer internship in California and moved back to Philadelphia to attend film school. He came to Istanbul last year to continue his training, and together with Muhammad and Abdullah, they all Co-Directed an award-winning documentary titled “On The Ropes.”
They submitted the film to the Global Muslim Film Festival and won Best Documentary and the Audience Award.
