It's Never Too Late To Start Something New!

Did you give up on your childhood dreams?
We all had goals in our younger years that didn't end up working out for us. At some point on our journey, we decided it wasn't going to be and moved on with our lives. I'm not referring to changing life goals; I'm talking about the dreams we never stopped wanting, but we gave up on for some reason or another.

Maybe we didn't possess the skills or talent needed to realize our dream. Perhaps we were told we couldn't reach our goals. There are likely many reasons we gave up; however, have you ever considered giving it another shot?

I tried to take up painting in my younger years, but I'm no good at it. My wife and children make fun of me to this day anytime I have to draw something. Somehow my brain got stuck at age 5 when it comes to drawing and painting. Years ago, I decided that it wasn't something I could pursue because I'm not good at it. However, I recently realized that being "good" at something isn't the only reason we should do things. If it brings us joy, teaches us something, or helps us in any way, it's worth it.

I've decided to get back in the game, though. I'm signing up for some painting courses, God willing. It's never too late to start something new. Do you have something you've left behind but still wish you could do it? If so, maybe give it another go with a new intention. It might just change your life for the better.

A student in one of my filmmaking master classes in Malaysia drew this portrait of me and gave it to me as a gift after class. I’m always in awe of people’s talents when it comes to painting and drawing. A skill I always hoped I’d possess as a young child.
